Trick-or-Treat

Check out my three favorite little people all dressed up. Just in case you can't tell they are a skeleton, a cow and a ladybug. I tried to get a picture of all three together but that is just about near impossible with the little ladybug. She can't be still for a minute. Always on the move.

Bridal

So I had my first official bridal shoot last Monday. I'll share some of the other images after the wedding. We wouldn't want the groom to run across them before the wedding but I will share this one image. I love this one! I'll be shooting their wedding in a couple of weeks and I can't wait!

Go Vote People

So I've never seen the country so divided and emotional about a Presidential election. I guess because these two candidates are so different. I voted today at the early voting in Greenville and it took me less than five minutes to be handed my ballot. I highly recommend doing this is you don't want to stand in line for two hours on election day. You can do this at the Pitt County Community Schools building on County Home Road across from the Farmer's Market and Wintergreen School. Remember voting a straight ticket does not cast a vote for the President or the NC judges. The judges are not listed as Republican or Democrat so do your research before you vote for them. If you want to vote Conservative the judges listed as conservatives are Edmunds, Hunter, McCullough, Barrett and Farlow. And if you live in the Chicod district don't forget to vote for Ephraigm Smith, another reason to not vote straight Republican because he is listed as the Democratic candidate for County Commissioner District B. To see a sample ballot click here. So get out and VOTE!!

To see where Obama and McCain stand on abortion click here.

So enough about politics. I went to the NCSU vs. FSU game last Thursday. We lost but I had a good time as always when I am surrounded by 50,000 of my closest friends. The game was on ESPN so they did a few cool things during the game. One of them was this little card trick. Glad I was sitting on the opposite side so I could see this. I thought it was kind of cool.

Homecoming

So we had Homecoming at church today. Good fellowship and some good food. There were three longs tables filled to the brim with casseroles, cakes, barbecue and all sorts of other goodies. I had to come home and take a nap after all that good home cooking. It's hard to keep a good figure as a Free Will Baptist living in the South. All in all a great Sunday.

Twice As Nice

Remember these two?

Well look at them now. They are now six months old and about to take off. They were on the move during this shoot, let me tell ya. They are so precious with their little curls, blue eyes and cheeks you just want to squeeze. So cute in fact I almost took one of them home with me.

Sarah Palin

So as most of you that live in Greenville know, Sarah Palin came to town last week for a rally at ECU. And yes I scored a ticket. It was very exciting as I have never been to anything like this. I've never seen a President or Vice President in person. And yes I know that she is not presently the VP but close enough. She could possibly be the first female Vice President in the history of our country and that's pretty cool. Elizabeth Dole and Pat McCrory also spoke. The crowd was definitely pumped up for Sarah though. There was a lot of excitement in that arena let me tell ya. Don't ask me why but for some reason I did not bring my camera. For one it is pretty heavy and I didn't want to lug it around for hours. And I didn't know how strict security would be. Looking back I now regret that decision because we were able to get pretty close and I probably could have gotten some really great images. But anyway these were taken with my handy ol' iphone, which I think is one of the greatest inventions and takes verily decent pictures. Though I wish it had a zoom. My co-workers and I had t-shirts made up. Out of 12 t-shirts she signed 3 of them. None of which I received but anywho... The lady on stage with Sarah threw one of our signed shirts to the other side of the crowd. So someone out there landed one of our shirts signed. If you know this person please let me know. =)

The autographing chaos after her speech.
My co-workers.
I decided to jump in. Horrible!!! My eyes are closed and so are Lori's.
The line (this was just a portion of the line)
The protestors.

The secret service.
The scoreboard.
The pledge of allegiance.
Read my lipstick people.
I don't know how I got this crazy shot.

Corn Maze Mania

Really, it's fall already? Where did the time go? In two and half months it will be Christmas! So you better hurry if you want Christmas pictures because it will be here before you know it. So I've been really busy this week with my hospital job so I haven't had much time to post. Some of you might not know it but not only can I take pictures of you on the outside I can take pictures of your insides. Well mainly just the heart. That's my specialty. I'm an echocardiographer which basically means I do ultrasound of the heart. But anyway here are a few pictures I took at the corn maze at church this past Sunday. By the time I got out of the corn maze it was getting pretty dark so I didn't get to take too many pictures. We did the corn maze and then a hay ride. I guess fall is here.

Cody Blue

So I'm not a big golfer. The last time I played was about three years ago. But yesterday I had the pleasure of playing in the Cody Blue Foundation charity golf tournament. Cody Pilkington lost his life on October 7 2005 in a fire at the Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity house at NC State University. I work with Cody's mom Pam and wanted to help in any way I could and she wanted me to play golf so I said sign me up. Cody lived a straight edge life and was very intelligent attending the NC School of Math and Science his junior and senior years of high school. He did not consume alcohol or do drugs but did not judge those who did. Cody's life may have been saved on October 7th if he had had a smoke detector over his head when he laid down that night. The fraternity house that was off campus did not have a smoke detector in every room like building code says it should. The mission of the Cody Blue Foundation is to educate anyone and everyone about the importance of smoke detectors. They also give away scholarships to students attending NC State in the engineering field. They promote awareness to college students. Every college student has the right to have a smoke alarm over there head at night. If you have a child in college please make sure they have one in their dorm room or apartment. It just might save their life.

Cody's mom and brother.

Cody's grandpa. Doesn't he look spiffy?

Before the golfing kicked off they released 365 balloons to signify another year of Cody's life lost. As his mom said in a perfect world Cody would have graduated from NC State this year so they choose red balloons.

My team.
The winning team.
Before the tournament this guy was selected for a putt worth $5,000. Guess what? He sank it! He was very excited. Notice his golf club up in the air right above the tree.

True golf attire.

Deallaney

Our sweet Deallaney had to have some surgery on her hips this morning at Duke. The goal of the surgery is to help straighten her legs to help her walk better. She is recovering and none too happy about the cast she has to wear for the next two weeks pretty much from her belly button down. I have to tell you it broke my heart to see her up there today. I would have traded places with her in a heartbeat. She was in a little bit of pain today but I'm sure she will recover nicely like always. She's a tough little girl. Thanks for all the prayers for her. Please remember her in the next couple of weeks. This is going to be hard on her. She wanted to tell everyone out there hello.

The pain medicine couldn't stop her from doing her wolf. Although today she told me she likes the Pirates now. Now she says "First Down Pirates, ARRGGGHHHHH!"

*These were taken with my iphone so please ignore the graininess it's the little one in the picture that matters most to me.
