News

So I have a few things to post about today. For one how does everyone like my blog makeover? I have to say I love my new header. I think it rocks. I have to thank a fine Texan named Kari over at Kari and Co. for the new blog design. If you need any graphic work done check her out. I heard about her through a few of the girls who I went to the Love Affair Workshop with. She's really fast and a great person. I know this because when I paid her for the work she did to my blog she turned around and gave half to the Progeria Research Foundation which is a charity that is very dear to my heart because they are searching hard to find a cure. She had read about Deallaney on my blog and felt the need to help these children. Thanks Kari!

Second, if you know of any seniors who would like some cool seniors shots to show who they really are and not the boring ol' picture of them in their cap and gown tell them to give me a call. I will be running a seniors special this year. For $150 you get two outfit changes, two locations, 8 wallets and 2 8 x 10's. The images are retouched and edited and placed in a password protected gallery to view. Feel free to bring your family for a group shot of the whole family. These images can be used with many cool products such as the coffee table books, senior party invitations, or thank you notes for all of those senior gifts.

Third I will be going up on my sitting fee very soon so if you want to book a session at the $50 sitting fee don't wait. I will be going up in the next few days.

Lastly I'll leave you with a few pictures from the State and William and Mary game last weekend. These were shot with my handy dandy iphone. This may be our only win this year. I hope not but you know somedays it's hard work being a Wolfpack fan. The first one is the fighter jets flying over which was pretty cool.

Christmas Cards

I know it's only August but the way this year is flying by Christmas will be here before we know it. This year I'm going to try something that alot of photographers do and that is sell designer Christmas cards. They will be very unique and different from the standard Snapfish designs everyone else sends out. And we all want to be unique and different don't we? I can buy several different designs but I need to know if anyone is interested before I buy them. The cards will be folding cards that open up and have your personal pictures on the front and on the inside. Prices will be $1.75 a card with a minimum order of 25. You can use your own personal pictures or pictures from a shoot you have had with me in the past. Or you can schedule a shoot for some new family pictures. Like I said I know it's only August but I would like to have them completed and printed by the end of November to get them out so that only gives us about 3 months. So.... shoot me an email if you are interested so I can get to working on them. Fa La La La La!!

Beach

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile but I've been down at the beach this past week with my family and the internet access was very limited. We had a great time. I swear I could live down there. If I ever get my hands on a million dollars the first thing on my list will be a oceanfront house. It was a great week of relaxing, swimming, eating and a few games of putt-putt. While we were there I did a session with my family to get a new group family picture. I also did another family session while I was down there as well. More on that later. Saturday and Sunday I headed down to Beaufort for a girls weekend which was really nice with a few of my friends from Raleigh. Beaufort was invaded by pirates this weekend so everywhere you looked there were pirates and all the little kids were dressed up like pirates. If you have never been to Beaufort, NC I highly recommend it. It's a cute little town with lots of old historic houses and shops along the waterfront. So here's a few of my favorites of my nieces and nephew.

I think he's got this modeling thing down. I'm thinking of sending his picture in to be a little Abercrombie kids model. I think he could do it for sure with these good looks.

Here's little wild woman. This one never stops.
And this one is of me and sweet Deallaney who kept telling me she was going to put me in jail all week. She's a spoiled rotten little mess!! I taught her some new songs this week so we did alot of singing.

Canvas Wrap Prices

I added the prices to my website for the canvas wraps. I've had a few people ask me about those.

11 X 14 ...$150
16 X 20 ...$200
18 X 24 ...$250
20 X 24 ... $300

Other sizes available. Price does not include frame. You can pretty much get these in any size. And they have what they call a floating frame that goes around them that can make them look 3-D.

30

Well folks tomorrow is the big day. My 30th birthday. I can't believe it. Remember when you thought 30 was old? Where did the time go? It feels like I was just graduating high school and college. Time flies when you're having fun I guess. I must say that I have been very fortunate in my first thirty years. I have so much to be thankful for. I have had great health so far. And for that I am so thankful. And I have been blessed with a wonderful family that would do anything in the world for me. Truth be told they probably do too much for me. Thanks Mom and Dad (my most loyal blog readers). And my friends, oh I've met some crazy ones along the way. Luckily I can say I still keep in touch with many of my good friends from high school and college. A girl can never have too many friends. And I also have the best nieces and nephew in the whole world who I love to spoil and can hardly go a week without seeing. Here's to 70 more. Wouldn't that be something? In honor of this big date I looked up some quotes about birthdays, age, and life. Here's a few of my favorites.

The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly and lie about your age. Lucille Ball
Age is strictly a case of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter.
Jack Benny
The old believe everything, the middle-aged suspect everything and the young know everything. Oscar Wilde
It takes a long time to grow young. Pablo Picasso

Canvas Wrap Products

Just wanted to suggest something to my clients out there. Canvas wraps are the new rage. And I just love them. What it is is your picture placed on a canvas that wraps around the wood and comes ready to hang on your wall. No frame needed. Of course if you are a frame person you can get them with a frame. They come in all sizes. Below is a 8 x 10 that a client ordered. What better way to decorate your walls than with big canvas wraps of your darling little ones. I love the really big ones hanging right over your favorite couch.

Viva Las Vegas

Well it's been a week since I posted and I guess some of you may be thinking I fell off the face of the Earth. But not to worry, I'm still alive. I've been in Vegas the past week for a little vacation. I had a great time. I ate some good food, lounged around the pool, got a massage and tried to win a little money. I didn't win enough to quit my day job yet so back to the real world. Believe it or not I didn't even take one picture while I was there. This trip was definitely low key and lazy. Just how I like it. I have a few shoots coming up so stay tuned for some new pictures.
