More Farming Pictures

More farming pictures from Friday. This first one is of an old stick barn out on my parents farm. This is the type of barn people used to cure tobacco in back in the day. We used these when I was a kid.

Some old equipment.

Tobacco Time!

Most of you that know me know that I grew up on a tobacco farm. Today I took some pictures of tobacco being "set out". That's what farmers call it when they plant the tobacco in the ground for the first time. This usually takes place around Easter. Maybe this year I'll show pictures through out the whole process since some of you that live far away have never seen tobacco. Around here it's a prominent crop. My family has farmed tobacco for probably about 200 years but it has ended with my generation. Sad to say but people just don't farm around here like they used to. Hope you like the pictures. I'll explain them don't worry.

In this first picture the people riding on the transplanter place the plants in the little slots and they drop down into the row and are planted.
This is what the tobacco plants look like in the trays. They are grown in these treys in a greenhouse and then when they get about this size they are planted in the field.
A tractor. Hope you've all seen one of these.

Another tractor shot.
Up close shot of the tobacco in the ground.
This is what the back of the transplanter looks like.

Different Ways to Process

Just wanted to show two of my favorite ways to process. Same pictures done in two diffent ways. I like both. But there's just something about the old vintage look though. Any thoughts?

Outside Shots

So here's some of the shots we took a couple of weeks ago outside. I love the shots with this old car. I pass by this car almost everyday and have been dying to take some pics out there. I think they turned out pretty cool. The first one isn't the best pose I know but I love the shot. Hope you like these Lou Lou.

BELLY SHOTS

So here's some belly shots that I took of Lindsey a couple of weeks ago. She is about 7 months along in these. I think it's best to do these shots at 9 months but since she lives in Georgia this was the last time I would be seeing her for quite a while. This is her first baby and we are all so excited for her. I know this little boy will be so loved.

Back In Business!!

So after almost two weeks I finally have my computer back. Stay tuned for new pictures.

Sneak Peek!!

My good friend Lindsey (aka Lou Lou) was in town this weekend for her baby shower. She currently lives in GA so I don't get to see her too often. She is due in July so she still has lots of growing to do. Here's two of my favorites. More to come next week when I get my computer back and can edit.

Computer Problems Again!!

So I am having major computer problems again so I won't be posting much this week. And I am shooting some cool shots tonight of my friend Lindsey from high school. So I am bummed that I want get to photoshop them for a whole week. But be sure to check back next week. Hopefully my computer will be fixed by then. Here's a picture from her baby shower today. She is expecting a little boy in July. I am so happy for her and can't wait to see the little fella.

Happy Birthday!!

My sweet little niece turned one yesterday. Here are two pictures of the little angel. Isn't she gorgeous? I'm having major computer problems now and my computer is now in the hands of Best Buy. Again!! So I will post more pictures from her party next week. These two are straight out of the camera. No photoshop.

2 + 2 = 4

A friend of mine gave birth to healthy twin girls last week and I couldn't wait to get some shots of them. They are joined by a big brother and big sister. Four children under the age of four. Talk about a busy house. Needless to say I think they are done now. The girls are so tiny and precious. And like their brother and sister they were born with a head full of hair. No mistaking who they belong to!! Here are a few of my favorites.

Getting some love from big sis!

More Pics From Love Affair

So all of these shots were done by my roommate from Love Affair, Brandi Nellis. She is a crazy, cool chic from Austin Texas. We got along so great and laughed non-stop for a week.

Brandi and I. Love the hat!!

Another shot of me done by Brandi. The coolest thing about going to a photography workshop is you get lots of shots of yourself which most photographers don't have.

My house mates and I. We are supposed to be jumping. Notice my feet are one the ground in both but check out how high Brandi can jump. Too funny!!

Duke

So a couple of months ago I took two of my friends to Duke to get some couple shots of the two of them. Here are a few of my favorites. We did most of these around the Duke chapel which is unbelievable. The whole campus over by the chapel is unlike most college campuses around here. I love all the stone work.

A shot of the chapel.
