Look who's playing t-ball!!

Yes that little girl that came into this world weighing a whopping two pounds and nine ounces is now five years old, attending kindergarten and playing t-ball. Boy has she come a long way. Nothing gets in Deallaney's way! And I won't even begin to describe how smart she is. Knows everything and remembers everything. :) These are pictures I took at her team's first scrimmage. Next up will be pictures in uniform. I can't wait. Yes, I'm a proud aunt. You can find more info here about children with Progeria and how to help. Let's find a cure!!

Go Chargers!!

So this past Sunday I went to my first NFL game courtesy of my wonderful father. I am a huge Chargers fan but San Diego is a long flight so we opted for the Cowboy/Charger game b/c it was closer and of course we wanted to see that new awesome Cowboy stadium. And it WAS awesome. The tv in there is 60 yards wide. It was huge and the HD was crystal clear. During the game you catch yourself looking at the tv almost as much as you look at the field. You just can't help it. So here's a few pictures. These were all taken with my little point and shoot camera and have not been edited in any way so please don't judge my photography off of these pictures. :) And also they are in random order.
Tony Romo warming up. He's in the long white sleeve shirt and blue shorts.

The Chargers about to make a play. Me and my pops. Our seats were pretty good. After the game. Victory!!! And a little blurry. Pretty boy Phillip Rivers on the big screen. Rivers used to be the quarterback at my Alma mater, NC State University. Man does our football team miss him. The Cowboys taking the field. Notice the ginormous tv screen. 60 yards wide!
On the Saturday night before the game we went to the Fort Worth Stock Yards. They run (or some might say slowly stroll) cattle through the street twice a day. Man were they huge! The stock yards has lots of cowboy shops, restaurants, bars and all that jazz. And if you're looking to drop $2,000 on a pair of boots head over to Leddy's. Needless to say I did not make any purchases there. The General Store was more my speed.

Photographing Kids

I've spent the past few days in Chicago and can I just say the weather was much better in Chicago than NC if you can believe that. It's rained non-stop since I've gotten home. The reason I was in Chicago was to attend a photography workshop with the awesome Audrey Woulard. I've always loved her style and wanted to learn some of her tricks of the trade. She brought in some little models for us to shoot the first day and I thought I would share a few pictures of these cutie pies. They were so stinking adorable! Parents take note of these kids style. No need for the frilly dresses. Think jeans, hats, scarves and most of all bright colors!

Happy Birthday!

So my sweet little niece turned two on Sunday. That's right she got birthday presents and a visit from the Easter Bunny all on the same day. I can't believe how fast these past two years have flown by. And of course no little girls birthday is complete without a Dora cake.
Sweetness!

Deallaney

So a while back I had entered Deallaney in a contest to win a one on one photo shoot with Millie Holloman and she won. Millie's an awesome photographer based out of Wilmington and taught at the Love Affair Workshop that I attended last year. Deallaney finally had her shoot a couple of weeks ago. To check out our little rock star click here. Here's an image I snapped with my iPhone of our little diva posing for the camera.

Las Vegas - WPPI

So last week was quite a whirlwind for me. I flew out to Vegas to spend most of the week with about 10,000 other photographers from all over the world at a little event called WPPI. Which stands for wedding and portrait photographers international. The days were filled with classes given by some really awesome photographers that I stalk and a massive tradeshow filled with all kinds of cool photography products like albums, jewelry, and canvases. Needless to say after the longs days and the time difference I was exhausted at the end of each day. But it was so worth it. Now I'm ready to take my business to the next level. Woo Hooo!! I didn't actually take too many pictures while I was there. I took a few with my point and shoot camera that I'll share. The last day we were there I did some shooting of some couples with a few other photographers. I'll post those later.

I stole these first two from my roommate, Brandi's blog.
This is a picture of me and three of my housemates from last years workshop.
It was great to catch up with my old pals.
A shot Brandi took of me taking a picture of the crowd.
The crowd waiting to get into the tradeshow the first day.
CRAZY!!!
This kid was eleven I think. He was working the tradeshow.
Asked Brandi and I how our websites were working for us.
Too Cute!! The next Donald Trump.
The photo jewelry.
I loved this booth. They had some really cool picture frames if anyone is interested.
They definitely had the beach house look.
Oh, and now for the best part. Did I mention I ran into PHILLIP RIVERS at the airport in Raleigh before departing for Vegas? Well, yeah I did. I just about flipped my lid when he walked right in front of me as I was walking out of the sandwich shop with my breakfast sandwich and my coke. My heart was beating a mile a minute. You see he is my favorite NFL quarterback. And for all of you out there that know me you know that I love my Wolfpack. Phillip used to be the QB for the Wolfpack and now he's the QB for the San Diego Chargers. This made my whole trip! Too bad he's married.

Christmas Play

The kids had their Christmas program at church this morning. Here's a few of the pics I took. We will be putting more on the church website soon. If any parents want any email me with your email addresses and I'll put them up on snapfish.

Let the children come to me, do not hinder them; for to such belongs to the kingdom of God. Mark 10:14

O' Christmas Tree

So I've been a little slack on the blog here lately but I've been so busy! And most of the sessions I've done lately I can't post until after Christmas because most are being used as gifts. So you'll just have to wait. Until then I'll leave you with some pictures of one of my favorite little girls. She came over and helped me put up my Christmas tree again this year. This is slowly becoming a tradition. She had so much fun doing it last year she couldn't wait to help out again this year. I don't know how I would have gotten it up without her. Is she precious or what?
The hanging of the first ornament.
Needless to say I have quite a few ornaments at the bottom of the tree.
All done (mostly)
Now I just need to go buy some presents.

Three Little Monkeys : Part I

So last night I took some shots of my three favorite little people as they are anxiously awaiting Santa Claus. They have the house decorated and are READY for the fat man! They were so cute in their matching pajamas. I on the other hand have yet to even start Christmas shopping or decorating, though I did listen to some Christmas music yesterday. It just seems like Christmas has come so fast this year. It feels like it was just summer a few weeks ago. Oh well I guess it's time for me to go in hibernation mode because I do not like the cold weather. Call me in June when the sun comes out.
